Further at the core of the 40 Over 40 Portrait Exhibit is the celebration of individuality and empowerment. Because I believe that every woman over 40 has a unique story to tell. Therefore she deserves to be seen and celebrated. By showcasing these extraordinary women, I aim to inspire others to embrace their uniqueness. I want all women to feel empowered in their skin.
Here are a few of the things women shared about themselves and about ageing.
>
““I feel stronger and more confident. Perhaps it’s a sense of peace that comes over you when you hit this age. The little things don’t matter anymore.””
>
“Live life to the fullest no matter what your age. Have no regrets. “Put on a happy face”. More people will smile back at you!”
>
“Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
>
“The biggest myth is that men age better than women. That is not true; rather, it is a society that allows men to age, not women. I’m glad this is pivoting and we are now embracing women being who they are in their 40s 50s 60s and beyond. Beauty is ageless.”
>
“In essence, my life is starting over again (in my 70’s). I have a chance to reinvent myself. At my age and with my life experience I have discovered that the path I take is the one I chose to take. My plan is to make the best of the rest of my life.”
>
“Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
>
“Now, my fifties. I am the most confident I have ever been. Having finally grown into my authentic self, I am saying yes to myself, to new experiences, and to new challenges. I am taking chances and so far I am loving this version of myself. There is so much more to try, to see, to dream and to conquer.”
>
“I value time now more than before. I try to be more present with time and with the people, I care about. It’s fleeting, and you don’t know when your time is up.”

As women come together to celebrate themselves and each other, they create an atmosphere of joy, support, and appreciation. The event is an opportunity to indulge in the finer things in life, to bask in the beauty of art, and to relish the moments that define us as women.
We are proud to announce that the 40 Over 40 Portrait Exhibit has raised $1400 for Halton Women’s Place, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting women in need in the Halton community. This partnership amplifies the message of empowerment and solidarity, as we come together not only to celebrate ourselves but also to uplift and help those who may be facing challenges. Halton Women’s Place provides a haven, counseling, and resources to empower women and children affected by domestic violence.
